Accountability Pledge
Catholic Charities Eastern Washington is a 501(c)(3) organization committed to the highest standards of good stewardship and accountability. An independent certified public accounting firm, overseen by the Finance Committee of the Board of the Directors, conducts an annual audit of all Catholic Charities Eastern Washington programs and finances. Funds received by Catholic Charities are carefully monitored to ensure their use complies with donor intent. Catholic Charities’ policies and procedures have been reviewed and meet the standards of the charitable accountability of the Better Business Bureau’s Philanthropic Advisory Service (2005-2016). Catholic Charities continuously attains the coveted Charity Navigator 4-Star rating for sound fiscal management, as well as Platinum Seal of Transparency status from Guide Star. Catholic Charities complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding non-discrimination.

In 2017, Catholic Charities Eastern Washington’s total income was $25,972,979, total expenses were, $23,143,696 and total change in net assets were $2,829,101. A majority of the increase in 2017 net assets comprises donated non-liquid assets and restricted funds designated for specific purposes. These funds are not available for current operations of the agency.
More than half of this total was generated by the various housing projects and is restricted for the operations, maintenance, refurbishment and capital improvements of those projects into the future. Of the remaining portion, the majority came from unrealized (paper) gains in investments and a building in Pasco donated to the agency.
