I joined Catholic Charities Counseling in 2012 after graduating from Eastern Washington University Graduate Program in 2011 with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology. As a therapist, I know that deciding that you are ready for counseling can be both overwhelming and exciting at the same time. I believe that beginning therapy doesn't automatically mean that something is wrong with you but that whatever the challenges you’re facing in your life, having a supportive person to work with along the way can make a significant difference. I know that taking the steps to start counseling is often very difficult and that choosing the right therapist for you is important because an effective therapeutic relationship is not "one size fits all.” I am a person centered therapist, which means you are in the driver’s seat of your care and I provide tools, resources, and support to help you achieve your goals. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process between client and therapist in which we work together to identify your goals and strengths as well as the challenges that bring you to therapy and that all of this is done in an open and accepting environment. This also means that the therapeutic tools I use in session are specific to what you need at the time and that they may change throughout treatment. Some of the approaches I use in treatment include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Process Therapy (IPT) and Motivational Interviewing and I have been a member of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science since 2017. I have experience working with clients dealing with generalized anxiety, depression, attention problems, chronic pain and chronic health problems, difficult life changes and clients who are having difficulty in their life but don’t seem to fit into any specific diagnosis. I also have experience working effectively with LGBTQ+ clients, nonbinary and gender fluid clients, and people of color. Nate Wareham: MS, LMHC, MHP
