DAILY SERVICES

Daily services that support the body, mind and spirit of our clients include: Case management and peer support, White Bison recovery meetings, life skills activities, RC program, and positive socialization events.

• Breakfast and Lunch and Dinner served daily to clients of House of Charity 

• Showers, laundry, and the Resource Room with select personal care items available are open daily 

• Secure lockers to store personal belongings 

• SSI/SSDI attorney available Thursdays 9 a.m.-noon 

• CHAS Street Medicine and Wound Care on-site Mondays and Thursdays 

• CHAS Mobile Dental visits periodically throughout the month 

• CAMAS Mobile is onsite seven days a week for substance use disorder treatment

SLEEPING PROGRAM

Since 1958, the Emergency Shelter has allowed those identifying as male who are 18 and older from all walks of life in the Spokane Area to take refuge in a bed rather than being out on the streets at night.

• To stay at the House of Charity, clients need to come in person to the Navigation Center at 527 S Cannon Street to get a referral to House of Charity. The Navigation Center hours are 9 am-5 pm daily.  

• Anyone that slept the night before can remain on-site for the full next day.

RESIDENTIAL CLIENT PROGRAM

Our RC Program is a client volunteer, workforce development program that aims to advance education and training while developing a healthy community.

• Clients work 20 hours a week in exchange for expanded privileges

• Participants are supported in identifying employment goals and work with staff to develop a pathway to paid employment.

• Case management, job readiness skill building, such as healthy resume building and interview prep. 

• Participation in community activities like bowling nights, baseball games, and museum tours are provided—modeling normalized experiences and healthy social engagement.

RESPITE PROGRAM

Our Respite program offers a safe, supportive space for men experiencing homelessness to recover from acute injury or illness. Respite at HOC is a nationally certified program that partners with local health care and state-wide manage care organizations to provide medical care coordination.  Respite is the 2016 winner of The Catholic Health Association of the United States "Achievement Citation Award - For innovative programming that changes lives."

• Acceptance into Respite is by medical referral only. 

• Clients are provided support specific to their medical needs including transportation to medical appointments, connection to vital resources, and access to medical supports such as wound care. 

• Case management services are provided to all Respite clients that work to build each person’s social drivers of health while working congruently towards permanent housing and other self-identified goals.
