”Pauline”, who moved gingerly and with care as she came in the door. She knows about our Street Outreach team and is currently staying in a respite bed at Hope House.  Pauline is tall, but somewhat stooped, with a gray braid down her back. She was hoping for a wagon to be able to move her belongings, having been told by someone she ran into on the street who had such a wagon that our Street Outreach program was the reliable source for such items so she came to be connected to Street Outreach staff.  Pauline spoke with an educated vocabulary and even a bit of self-deprecation. She did not take herself “too seriously”. She also asked about a walker. We offered the one such item we had on hand, a standard (new!) foldable walker. She expressed that what she really hoped for was a more robust 4-wheel walker with a seat. After we made calls to connect her to the Street Outreach team, she thanked us and left. Five minutes later, she rang the bell and came back in. She said “After I left, God told me not to pass over help when it’s being offered. I don’t know what I was thinking before. If I can still have the walker, I’ll be happy and thankful to have it.”  She quickly and smartly attached her bags to the walker and went on her way.
