teamwork makes the dream work.

We all believe in the power of teamwork. It’s just as important in sports……as it is in volunteering for Catholic Charities.

Teamwork is so important because we all know that no one person has all the answers. To truly make a difference in our community, whatever issue we’re working on, we need great ideas from as many places as possible

.

That’s why this year’s Caring for Kids event celebrates Collaborating to Care for Kids in our Community. Caring for Kids is an annual fundraising event that benefits the services and programs of Catholic Charities and Morning Star Boys’ Ranch. This year’s theme emphasizes the organizations’ shared work to create loving home environments for children by employing trauma-informed care, wraparound services and holistic family support.

In other words, teamwork. To explore our theme, we’ve invited guest speaker Ryan Oelrich to give the keynote address.

Oelrich, executive director of Priority Spokane, is a noted expert on teamwork. Priority Spokane serves as a catalyst and convener in Spokane County for data-driven and focused improvements in economic vitality, education, the environment, health, and community safety. In Oelrich’s popular Tedx talk on nonprofit collaboration, Oelrich explains that, “Coordination and collaboration in a community response is key.”

At Caring for Kids, Oelrich will share more of his insights on the value of serving children in our region through nonprofit collaborations like that of Morning Star Boys’ Ranch and Catholic Charities.

But there are plenty of reasons beyond teamwork to purchase a ticket for Caring for Kids! First, there is a social hour with heavy hors d’oeuvres beginning at 5 p.m. Then at 6 p.m. our brief program begins, including:

  • A chance to hear the drummers and dancers from Grant Elementary

  • Enjoying our signature dessert

  • A raffle drawing for an overnight stay at the Davenport!

Caring for Kids will take place on Thursday, October 10 from 5–7 p.m. at the Grand Pennington Ballroom at The Historic Davenport Hotel. You can purchase tickets by visiting our website.

Come on and Collaborate to Care for Kids in Our Community! We look forward to seeing you!
