This Week God Brought Us... "Glenn"
This week God brought us…”Glenn”, along with his wife and two kids. They’re living in a family shelter in Spokane and working with our Homeless Families Coordinated Assessment to find their path forward to stable housing. They may even be future tenants of one of our family Havens.
Glenn works about 32 hours per week and makes a decent hourly wage. But it’s not full time work and it’s not enough to afford housing in this economy without assistance. Getting to work and to housing appointments means gas for their car and gas prices have been high lately. We set up a time to meet them at a nearby gas station, but after leaving our offices, they actually ran out of gas. He scrounged change out of the car and walked to a different gas station with a gas can to put just enough in the tank to get him to our meet up. He called to let us know he was on his way and to apologize for the delay. Glenn is doing the best he can for his family and shows us that it can be a struggle just to access the resources for help. We pray for Glenn and his family, for all families doing their best in challenging circumstances. May our accompaniment be a blessing.
