Parish Social Ministries (PSM), through grant money from Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD), awarded grants recently to both FEAST World Kitchen and the East Central community's Fresh Soul. FEAST’s mission is to celebrate and empower immigrants and former refugees and reduce community tensions through education, storytelling, and meaningful cultural exchanges. Fresh Soul is a life skills and job training program that serves youth ages 14-18. Their program runs for 16 weeks and covers topics such as kitchen training, kitchen etiquette, food-handling skills, service, having a bank account and budgeting, resume building, job search, interview skills, mentoring, and pride in and giving service to our community. Both organizations are incredibly worthy causes, and Catholic Charities is proud to play a small role in their ongoing endeavors.
