This Week God Brought Us: Tracy

”Tracy”, who was referred by our Rapid ReHousing program. RRH has been working with Tracy for a while and our staffer praised Tracy’s efforts to stabilize her family – including 3 children – after some time at the YWCA shelter when she left an abusive relationship last year. Because of her previous instability, Tracy had not been receiving her mail reliably, which included her municipal water/sewer/garbage bills. When the water at the apartment RRH had helped her find was an imminent risk of disconnect, our RRH staffer helped Tracy find the resources she needed, including funds from another area church.  Between that church and our own emergency assistance funds, we were able to avoid a disconnect for Tracy and her kids. Tracy shared good humor when we spoke and had effusive thanks for our RRH staffer’s work on her behalf. Describing herself as “blunt and direct”, she can now focus on the next steps to stabilize her childrens’ home and their future together.

Tracy is our own Sister, and the Holy Spirit asks us to truly see her.
